Food for thought...

I don't know how well this will go down here, but this i the only website I have access to that allows posts and that crap, any how;
Have you ever thought what drives us? What makes us get up in the morning, what makes us what to be remembered, what makes us want to breed?
I have, and I have come to one conclusion.
Fear. Fear of death is what makes us want to eat and drink, fear of being forgotten makes us want to be remembered, and do great things.
So how do you explain something like love? There is no fear on the flip side, only love. So that is where I thought there must be something more. So I modified my theory; Fears and desires drive us, fears strengthening our desires, and desires spawning our fears.
So if I want something, I fear not getting it. And if I fear something, I desire the opposite. But with that in mind, there must be an origin, a point at which it all started; one fear/desire creating every other fear and desire.
When this desire came into being, that is when, I think, we stopped being insects and creatures of impulse, and became something more. But that is a different matter entirely. Anyway, this ultimate desire/fear, is the point of which all other things came from, so what is it?
I originally thought to live.
But then, where does our willingness to take risks come from? What of the desire to give our own lives to save others?
Ok then; to progress man kind. Doesn't really cover it does it? It feels right for a moment, but think about it, and it just doesn't entirely fit.
I would really like your thoughts on the matter, reader. Feel free to post any thoughts and/or opinions; I would love to hear them all.
